Fund Drive Information
Local officials have recently warned residents of deceptive practices by fundraisers soliciting contributions by telephone or by going door-to-door. Some of these “fundraisers” claim to benefit firefighters or fire/rescue organizations, and some phony charities use names that closely resemble those of legitimate organizations.
The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department would like you to know the following about our fundraising practices:
The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department does not solicit contributions by telephone, or door-to-door. We do not use paid solicitors to go door-to-door or use telemarketers for our fundraising. The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department is a member of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association, but does not solicit for funds through it.
If you receive a telephone call or a visit by someone claiming to represent the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department, and you have any doubt about the person’s identity, we encourage you to obtain as much information as possible (such as name of the individual, name of the organization, and/or the telephone number of the caller) and contact us and local law enforcement immediately. In the interest of preventing scams, this page is for verification and a safe place to provide a donation to our Semi-Annual Fund Drive letter. The letter is sent by The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department to the greater Crofton, Gambrills and Davidsonville areas in the fall and spring. If you are planning to make a Fund Drive donation please continue on this page. If you are looking to make a regular donation please use the Donate button to the left side of the page.
For verification the return envelope should read as follows
If you have a different letter claiming to be The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department please contact us immediately.
Fund Drive donations are accepted by dropping it off at the station, postal mail and online. If you are ready to make an online, tax deductible donation to our Fund Drive, you will need the reference number from the letter you received.
